First Time is "Charmed"

Once upon a time, I wrote an erotic novella, "Charmed, I'm Sure," which was published by Simon & Schuster in the book Three Kinds of Asking for It. At that time, I created this web site.

I've since switched careers and I'm now going back to graduate school so I can become licensed as a psychotherapist. While I no longer write about sex, I've left this site up for those who might find it entertaining.

* * * * *

"What's 'Charmed, I'm Sure' about?", you ask. As you'll learn on the book's first page:

A businessman pays a witch for the ability to have any kind of sex with any anybody(ies) he wants for a day. Complications ensue.

The novella combines humor and "what will happen next?" with extremely explicit, often unconventional sex that's really hot. While its major purpose is to entertain, the story doesn't slight characterization and personal growth. (Excerpts from this, and the other novellas, are available at the bottom of this column for your reading pleasure.)

You can order your copy by clicking on the cover picture at the top of the left column.  If you're half as distractible as I am, I suggest you do so right now, so you'll get your book and I'll get my referral fee from Amazon, the only "royalties" this story will bring me.

My story's intended to be a gripping read -- we're not talking about A Thousand Observations on the Eating Habits of Maggots and, by the Way, Everyone Dies at the End, Including the Puppy. I hope you'll love it, and want to tell everyone about it. Give it a try!

Book Reviews

Books_1People have been saying nice things about my book. Very nice. Here's a collection of comments from reviewers, including Carol Queen, Annie Sprinkle, Dossie Easton, and Publishers Weekly. I'll try to keep this up to date; let me know if you see something to add.

"This is not a good book, or even a great book, but rather is an excellent book. The writers here have managed the near impossible by presenting stories that are not just touching, amusing, amazing, evocative, or poignant but also powerfully erotic. I cannot recommend it too highly!"

You Can Help!

Help_1Maybe you've read my novella and think it's the greatest thing since wall-current vibrators. Or you haven't read it, but doing favors for complete strangers makes you warm all over.

Here's how you can help:

  • Pass on the URL of my site -- http://www.ericalbert.net -- to anyone you think would appreciate it.
  • Rave to your friends, family, and legions of loyal fans.
  • Write adoring yet pithy comments on Amazon by clicking here.
  • Do a print, or radio, or online, or TV, or any other kind of review.
  • Interview me. I love being interviewed. If you're within 30 miles of Boston, I'll come to you; if not, we can do it by phone.
  • Invite me for an event (reading / signing / talking about "Current Trends in Erotic Writing") at your bookstore / college / library / bat mitzvah. Events are conducted at the rating you request: PG-13, R, or X.
  • Buy copies as presents, or because you're kind of obsessive (collect them all!).
  • Buy any copies (new or used) of Three Kinds of Asking for It from Amazon by clicking here. This gives me a referral fee. Buying the book in any other way gives me no financial reward -- my author contract is for a flat fee, without royalties.

Of course, you don't need to do any of the above. Relax. Enjoy!

Speaking Truth to Sex

Gvgtsex_1You can't spend all your time reading erotica. (No, really.) Even the hardiest among us sometimes needs a break. That's where nonfiction sex books come in. You can open your mind, broaden your vision, and cleanse your palate, all at the same time.

Here are my top choices, reading I feel has lasting value. You can click on a book's cover to see a larger image, and click on its title to order a copy.

Six Questions

QmarksIt's question-and-answer time.

Q. Readers consistently vote your erotic stories among their favorites. What do you think is the source of your popularity?

A. Besides my quick, warm grin? People like that I write erotica that's erotic. Sounds simple, but I'm surprised how many sex books aren't that sexy. I want my reader's pulse to quicken, their breathing to get shallow; I want them aroused. If they read with one hand, if they call in their sweetie from the other room -- that's a great review, that says I've done my job well.
